| The Grand Knight reported as follows: 1) Knight of the Month, Cliff Filleau, 2) Family of the Month, | ||||||||
| Bob and Diana Miller. Martin Finney was introduced to us from Fr. Prefontaine Council, St. Johns. | ||||||||
| Our council received approval to care for the hiway 527 from mile .43-2.4. Joe Brisson, passed away, retired school | ||||||||
| principal age 87. Funeral at 11 am Friday 8/6 at St Marks. 3 Knights were paul bearers. | ||||||||
| The Chaplain report as follows: No activity. | ||||||||
| The Treasurer report as follows: Ray Deck reports as of 8/1/04, Checking, $15,188.96, Scholarship Fund, | ||||||||
| $13,289.04 and C.D. $10591.97. | ||||||||
| The Grand Knight read receipts 705 for $1,694.00 (misc) and 706 for $122.00 (Pennies from Heaven). | ||||||||

| The following bills were read: 1) $391.68 Rosary purchases, 2) $238.38 for summer meetings | ||||||||
| 3) $10.87 for directories. Motion carries to pay all 3 bills. | ||||||||
| The Trustees report: John Mathewson, presented semi annual audit report ending 6/30/04. | ||||||||
| The Chancellor report: No activity | ||||||||
| Community Director reports as follows: Edwin Eugenio reports 5 knights and 3 wives volunteered 57 | ||||||||
| hrs and traveled 343 miles to deliver 4400 lbs. of food. A new blood drive is coming 8/18. Larry Pomada | ||||||||
| talked of efforts by the Sacred Heart Admin. To feed 50-80 homeless. 200-400 meals served. Mike | ||||||||
| Hanrahan spoke of Sunday tent city meeting cancelled due to difficulties within the subject matter of tent city | ||||||||
| issues. Council members, lawyers, police, church members attend these meetings. Efforts to assist tent | ||||||||
| city residents with job resumes to find jobs are being offered. The Catholic Register contacted Mike on news | ||||||||
| regarding tent city and Knights. Richard Foudray sent in pictures. Bill Nash and Tony Partington helped | ||||||||
| with resumes. R Foudray reminded the council of the upcoming Salmon dinner event and asked for help on | ||||||||
| ticket sales. Event is 8/15 at 4:30 and 6:30 and help is needed for setup and clean up. The dinner is | ||||||||
| available to non parishoners and anybody else who wants to attend.. September 6th is the | ||||||||
| installation of officers at 11 am and picnic follows at 12. Scott Bryan mentioned a clever bumper sticker for | ||||||||
| anti abortion, "As a former fetus, I oppose abortion". Scott and Larry Pomada asked for prayer on this issue. | ||||||||
| No activity reported by G.K. Bobby Buendia on recruitment. 3 Knights gave 6 hrs. to move Fr. Lawrence. | ||||||||
| The Family Dir. reports as follows: Ken Schlosser, a thank you to Bob and Diana Miller for their financial | ||||||||
| efforts , donating $300 to tent city. | ||||||||
| The Youth Director reports as follows from Bill Paulson; No activity. G. k. Bobby Buendia reports that 5 | ||||||||
| baptisms occuring this Saturday and Sunday. John Mathewson reports that scholarship money will be paid | ||||||||
| this month to 2 recipients. | ||||||||
| Lecurer report from Norm Michel: No activity. | ||||||||
| The standing committees reports as follows: Joe Pinedo receives his vest. Golf committee reports on 6/26 | ||||||||
| tourny at Battle Creek Golf Course that 53 members and family attended. $1500 raised from brochure and hole | ||||||||
| sponsors. Money given to Safe Place for Newborns. Effort to make a 4x8 check for presentation is under- | ||||||||
| way. Paul Livingston Chmn. in effort to use wives of tournament founders for check presentation. | ||||||||
| John Mathewson reminds us that a vest is $25 or 40 hours of recorded volunteer work. Turn in your hours. | ||||||||
| Volunteer hours for the float was 98 hours for preparation, 48 hours for parade support. | ||||||||
| Cliff Filleau reports $191 spent on float. 1st degree Captain John Mathewson needs back up volunteers to the | ||||||||
| 6 parts of 1st degree exemplafication. Ken Schlosser of the donation committee recommends no donation to | ||||||||
| evangelical organization Life Choices. Similar program already receives money. A car was donated | ||||||||
| with value of $3875. Council receives half less $100. More similar donations requested. | ||||||||
| Unfinished business was taken up and disposed of as follows: No activity | ||||||||
| New business was brought up as follows: John Mathewson asks for an effort to send prepared food to | ||||||||
| needy members such as Bud and Helen Edgar. Helen is recovering with difficulty from a stroke. Marc | ||||||||
| McGuire is Council Director. A request was made to set up a Lady Knights group to coordinate effort. | ||||||||
| Larry Pomada spoke about Cursillo. Their goal is to make Christ the prime influence in society. Cursillo | ||||||||
| started in Spain. A 3 day event with 14 talks is upcoming. Larry has been involved since 1986. | ||||||||
| Report of Fourth Degree: Richard Foudray has asked for volunteer shuttle drivers for 4th degree on Oct. 2. | ||||||||
| Maybe 100 people involved. 1 meeting left to accept $65 and application for 4th degree for members in | ||||||||
| good standing and 1 year membership. Waiver for 6 month membership is available. Scott Bryan made a | ||||||||
| motion to scholarship for financial hardships. Motion did not carry. $500 outfits can be borrowed from | ||||||||
| Council 6686 inventory. Black suit and bow tie is necessary. | ||||||||
